Paint brushes: six widths, and what each one is for
One listing carries all six sizes, and the price climbs with the width. They are flat brushes with PET and white bristle in a chrome-plated ferrule and a plastic handle.

All six together come to 5.850 KD, which is a small price for never having to use the wrong brush again. If you are buying one, the 2.5 inch at 1.000 KD is the size that does the most jobs in a Kuwait flat; add the 1 inch at 0.500 KD for the beading and you have covered a majlis repaint for 1.500 KD of brushes.
Scrapers: 30 mm to 100 mm
The industrial wall scraper is one listing in six widths, in heat-treated tool steel, mirror polished, with a two-component handle. The width is what decides it: a narrow blade gets into a corner and takes more force per square centimetre, a wide one levels a patch flat.

Three other scrapers sit outside that range because they are a different build — a blade on a plastic handle rather than tool steel in a two-component grip. The 7 inch multifunction stainless scraper knife is 0.250 KD, the 300 mm scraper knife is 0.750 KD and the 100 x 18.5 mm scraper is 0.450 KD. For filler work on a wall the wide tool-steel blades are the ones that will not flex; for peeling a sticker off glass the thin stainless blade is.

The waterproof line is the one that goes to 2000 grit, and it is listed in nine separate grits from 80 to 2000 at 1.000 KD for a ten-sheet set, so you buy the grit you need rather than a mixed packet. Two general points about grit, which are abrasive practice rather than figures from our records: a low number such as 80 removes material and leaves scratches, and the usual key for paint is somewhere around 120 to 180, with the high numbers used between coats or for wet rubbing.

Spraying: an aerosol, two guns and an airless machine
Four ways to put paint on without a brush, and the price gap between them is about area, not quality.
- Aerosol spray paint, 1.250 KD a can. Nine colours on one listing: gloss white, gloss black, machine grey, light blue, fire red, gloss dark blue, gloss royal blue, Irish green and aluminium. For a chair frame, a number plate bracket, a rusted hinge or a touch-up on a bumper this is the whole answer for 1.250 KD and nothing to clean afterwards.
- 110 W electric spray gun, 6.950 KD. Mains powered at 220 to 240 V, with an adjustable flow setting. The size for a door, a set of cupboard fronts or a piece of furniture.
- Cordless spray gun with two batteries, 11.950 KD. Its record states a 1.8 mm nozzle, a 2.0 Ah battery, 120 W and a 300 mm spraying distance. Its own title and its variant name disagree about the battery voltage, so this page prints neither figure.
- 1200 W airless machine, from 35.000 KD. The only one in the range sized for a whole wall: 220 V, a 2.5 L hopper and a stated delivery rate of 2 L a minute, which is the figure that tells you it will keep up with a room rather than a cupboard.

Mixing, pigment and the small things
- Two mixing paddles at 0.750 KD, and they do not fit the same machine. The 80 x 500 mm paddle has an SDS shank, so it goes into a rotary hammer. The 400 x 80 x 10 mm paddle has a 10 mm round shank for a drill chuck. Check which shank your machine takes before you buy, because neither adapts to the other.
- A dedicated 1200 W paint mixer is 19.950 KD at 230 V, for anyone mixing plaster or filler by the bucket rather than stirring a tin.
- Wire brushes, 0.750 KD either way. The three-piece steel set for rust and weld scale, the brass brush for softer metal.
- Cotton mullmull cloth, 1.750 KD. Plain white cotton for wiping down and for dust.
- Iron-oxide pigment in 20 kg bags. Black, brown, light brown, orange, red and yellow are 17.500 KD a bag; green is 25.000 KD and blue 27.000 KD. This is pigment for cement, plaster and mortar, not wall paint.
