What to check before you buy

• Rolling base or fixed frame. A nylon base on castors rolls and swivels, which suits a desk you work at all day. A chrome sled base or a stacking frame stays put, which is usually what a meeting room wants.
• Match the chair to the desk height. All three desks here are 75 cm high. At a counter or a cashier station you sit higher, which is what the cashier chair and its footrest ring are for.
• Mesh or padded. Five chairs here are mesh-backed, at 19.500, 22.500, 49.950, 69.000 and 84.450 KD. Mesh is the usual choice for a Kuwait summer office; the leather and padded pieces are the conference and reception seating.
