Buying tips

  • Drilling or breaking? A rotary hammer makes holes in concrete and, on most models, chisels lightly. A demolition hammer does not drill at all; it only breaks. Pick by which of the two you do most.
  • Motor power: 800W handles anchor holes and occasional concrete. 950W and 1150W suit more frequent work. The 1700W demolition hammer is for breaking slabs, screed and tiles.
  • Bits: rotary hammers take SDS-Plus bits, not ordinary drill bits. Ours start from 0.5 KD.
  • Petrol or battery for an auger: a petrol auger keeps working far from a power point, which is usually the point of digging post holes.

FAQs

How much is a demolition hammer in Kuwait?

Our 1700W electric demolition hammer is 45 KD. It is for breaking concrete, screed and tiles, not for drilling holes.

How much is a rotary hammer in Kuwait?

Corded rotary hammers here start from 17.45 KD for an 800W machine, with 950W at 24 KD and 1150W at 25 KD. Larger rotary hammers from 39 KD are in our electric drills and rotary hammers collection.

What is the difference between a rotary hammer and a demolition hammer?

A rotary hammer turns the bit as it hammers, so it drills into concrete and can chisel on most models. A demolition hammer only hammers, with far more force, so it breaks material apart. If you need holes, choose the rotary hammer; if you need to break out concrete or tiles, choose the demolition hammer.

Do I need special bits for a rotary hammer?

Yes. Rotary hammers use SDS-Plus shank bits, which lock into the machine rather than being gripped by a chuck. Ordinary drill bits will not fit. SDS-Plus bits start from 0.5 KD.
