The parts of a connected home that are not appliances: a WiFi thermostat for the air conditioning, detectors for water, gas and smoke, and locks for cabinets, drawers and lockers. A cabinet lock is 6.000 KD, a water leak detector 5.750 KD and the WiFi air-conditioner thermostat 32.000 KD. Everything here runs off your phone.

Which one do you need?

Type Best for Price
Water leak detector, app alarm Under a sink, behind a washing machine, beside a water heater — anywhere a slow leak would go unnoticed for a week 5.750 KD
Cabinet and locker lock A steel cupboard, a drawer or a staff locker you want opened from a phone instead of a key 6.000 KD
Water leak detector with a 100 dB alarm The same job where nobody is looking at a phone — it sounds in the room as well as on the app 7.950 KD
Gas and temperature alarm, with a screen A kitchen or a plant room on bottled gas; reads on the unit and on the app 8.500 KD
Cabinet lock with a code and a fingerprint reader A cupboard several people open — no key to hand round and no code to tell anyone 9.500 KD
WiFi thermostat for air conditioning, 24V touchscreen Setting the AC from your phone instead of from the wall; black or white 32.000 KD

Out of stock at the moment: the WiFi smoke detector, the infrared temperature and humidity sensor, the lock for wooden drawers, and the thermostat for central air conditioning. Ask us about availability on any of those.

What to check before buying

  • A cabinet lock is not a door lock. Everything on this page at 6.000 KD and 9.500 KD fits a cupboard, a drawer or a locker. If you want the front door, the villa gate or a flat door, that is a different product with a different body and a different fitting — see smart locks instead.
  • Decide whether the alarm needs to be heard in the room. The 5.750 KD detector tells your phone. The 7.950 KD one tells your phone and sounds at 100 dB where it sits. For a holiday flat the first is enough; for a kitchen with people in it, the second.
  • Put leak detectors where water collects, not where pipes run. On the floor under the sink trap, behind the washing machine, at the lowest point of the plant room. A detector on a shelf is a detector that never triggers.
  • Check your air conditioner is 24V before you buy the thermostat. The 32.000 KD unit is a 24V controller. That is the one specification that decides whether it fits your system, and it is worth confirming against your indoor unit before ordering.
  • A fingerprint lock saves you handing out keys, not money. The 9.500 KD cabinet lock costs 3.500 KD more than the 6.000 KD one. It earns that back on a cupboard several people open and nothing at all on a cupboard one person opens.

FAQs

How much is a smart thermostat in Kuwait?

The WiFi air-conditioner thermostat with a touchscreen is 32.000 KD in black or white, and it is a 24V controller. The thermostat for central air conditioning is out of stock at the moment. Both are set from a phone.

What is the difference between your two water leak detectors?

The 5.750 KD one raises the alarm on your phone. The 7.950 KD one does that and also sounds a 100 dB alarm where it sits. Both are in stock, so the choice is simply whether someone will be in the building to hear it.

Do you have a lock for a steel cupboard rather than a door?

Yes, and that is what the locks on this page are. The 6.000 KD lock fits a steel cabinet, a drawer or a locker; the 9.500 KD one adds a code and a fingerprint reader for a cupboard several people open. The cupboards themselves are in steel cupboards. For doors, see smart locks.

Do you sell smart switches as well?

Yes — wall switches and sockets are a separate range, in smart switches. Nothing on this page replaces a wall switch.

Also useful: smart switches for the wall side of the same job, steel cupboards for the cabinets these locks go on, and smart pet feeders and litter boxes.
