Chain saws for pruning, firewood and clearing: cordless saws that run off a battery, a corded electric saw and petrol saws for work away from a socket. Prices start at 18.950 KD for a 12 inch brushless cordless saw supplied with two batteries, and run to 29.950 KD for a 20 inch petrol saw. The small one-handed saws are out of stock at the moment, so the prices below are the ones you can buy today.
Which chain saw do you need?
| Type | Best for | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Cordless chain saw, 12", brushless, 800W | Pruning and branch work round a house or a farm with no lead to drag. Brushless motor, two batteries supplied — the lightest and cheapest saw in stock | from 18.950 KD |
| Electric chain saw, 16", 1800W | Firewood and repeated cutting near a socket: mains power means no battery to run flat. 16 inch guide bar, chain brake and safety lock, chain tensioning without tools | from 21.500 KD |
| Cordless chain saw, 16" | A longer bar than the 12 inch while staying cordless, for thicker branches away from power. Two batteries supplied; ask us for the battery voltage, as it is not printed correctly on the listing | from 25.000 KD |
| Petrol chain saw, 12" | Small to medium logs with no power supply at all. Chain brake and anti-kickback, 12 inch guide bar | 26.500 KD |
| Petrol chain saw, 20", 58cc 2.2kW | The longest bar we stock, for tree work, felling and site clearance. A 2-stroke engine and a 20 inch guide bar — the saw to pick when the job is a day long and nowhere near a socket | 29.950 KD |
Out of stock at the moment: the 4 inch and 6 inch cordless saws, the 12 inch corded electric saw, and one of the two 20 inch petrol saws — that is every saw under 18 KD at once. Ask us about availability rather than buying a bigger saw than the job needs.
Which one do you need?
- Bar length sets the limit, not the motor. A saw cuts cleanly through roughly what its bar can reach across in one pass. 12 inches handles branches and small logs; 16 inches is the general-purpose size; 20 inches is for trunks and felling. Buying a longer bar than you need makes the saw heavier to hold at arm's length, which is where tiredness comes from.
- Battery, mains or petrol — decide by where you will stand. Cordless goes anywhere and starts instantly, and both cordless saws come with two batteries so one charges while you work. Corded never runs out but ties you to an extension lead. Petrol is the only one that works on a site with no power at all, and it is also the heaviest and the only one that needs fuel mixed and stored.
- For pruning round a house, cordless wins on the small jobs. You will pick up a 12 inch battery saw for a ten-minute job you would never start a petrol saw for. If most of your cutting is one branch at a time, that is the saw to buy.
- For firewood, mains power is the cheap answer. The 16 inch 1800W electric saw at 21.500 KD will cut all afternoon on a socket, which no battery will. It also has a chain brake and tool-free chain tensioning, so adjusting it mid-job does not mean hunting for a spanner.
- Check the petrol prices against each other before you choose. The 12 inch petrol saw is 26.500 KD and the 20 inch is 29.950 KD. On bar length alone the 20 inch is the better buy of the two; the 12 inch is the one to take if you want a petrol saw you can hold up for longer.
- Keep the chain sharp and keep it tensioned. A blunt chain is what makes a saw grab and a cut wander, and it does far more damage to the motor than hard wood does. Tell us what you are cutting and we will show you how tight the chain should sit on the bar.
- Pruning shrubs and hedges rather than branches? A chain saw is the wrong tool for soft green growth — see cutting and trimming for shears and garden tools.

FAQs
How much is a chain saw in Kuwait?
From 18.950 KD for a 12 inch brushless cordless saw with two batteries. A 16 inch 1800W corded electric saw starts at 21.500 KD, the 16 inch cordless at 25.000 KD, the 12 inch petrol saw is 26.500 KD and the 20 inch petrol saw is 29.950 KD. The 4 inch and 6 inch cordless saws, normally the cheapest in the range, are out of stock.
Which chain saw is best for cutting tree branches?
For branches round a house, the 12 inch cordless saw from 18.950 KD — light, no lead, two batteries, and you will actually bother to pick it up. For thicker limbs away from power, the 16 inch cordless at 25.000 KD. For a full day of tree work or felling, the 20 inch petrol saw at 29.950 KD, which runs on a 58cc 2.2kW engine with a 20 inch guide bar.
Cordless or petrol?
Cordless if you are cutting for minutes at a time and want to start instantly — pruning, tidying, the occasional log. Petrol if you are cutting for hours, nowhere near a socket, or through a trunk. Petrol saws here are 26.500 and 29.950 KD against 18.950 for the cheapest cordless, and they are heavier to hold and need fuel mixed and kept.
Do the cordless saws come with batteries?
Yes, both come with two batteries, so one charges while the other is in the saw. The 12 inch is a brushless 800W model. The 16 inch model's battery voltage is printed wrongly on the listing, so ask us and we will read it off the tool in the showroom rather than guess at it here.
