Steel cupboards, lockers and file cabinets for homes, offices, workshops, gyms and staff accommodation. The range runs from 19.750 KD for a single-door locker with a hanging rail up to 45 KD for a full-height, five-shelf office cabinet. Lockers are the volume lines here and are well stocked in white and silver.

Which steel cupboard is right for you?

The decision is really three questions: how many separate lockable compartments do you need, are you hanging clothes or stacking boxes and files, and how much wall have you got?

Type Best for Price
1 door, 2 shelves and a cloth hanger One person's clothes and bags, hung at full length — the cheapest way into the range 19.750 KD
2 doors Two users, or one user who wants long items separated from short 20.750 KD
3 doors Three users, or sorted compartments for one 21.750 KD
4 doors A small team, staff accommodation, a gym changing area 22.750 KD
5 doors Five users in the same floor footprint as the 2-door 23.750 KD
1 door, 5 shelves Folded stock, files, tools and supplies behind a single lock 23.750 KD
Steel file cabinet, 5 shelves Offices and stores: wide double doors and full-width shelves, 1850 x 900 x 400 mm 45 KD

Two prices on that table are worth a second look. The single-door cupboard with five shelves is 23.750 KD, the same as the five-door locker — you are paying for five levels of shelving inside one compartment rather than for five separate locks. And the 2-door at 20.750 KD is only 3 KD below the 5-door, so if there is any chance you will need more compartments later, the bigger one is cheap insurance.

Sizes, colours and locks

  • Sizes as listed. The 2, 3, 4 and 5-door lockers are listed as 180 x 40 cm. That is the two figures published on the product pages — ring us or come in if you need the third one before you commit to a wall. The five-shelf file cabinet is the only model with all three dimensions published: 1850 x 900 x 400 mm.
  • Colours. Lockers are in white and silver, and both are in stock across all four door counts. The five-shelf file cabinet is listed in white, grey and beige, but only grey is in stock right now.
  • Locking. The single-door locker's listing describes handles with inset hasps, which take either a combination lock or a key lock. If you would rather not hand out keys at all, there is a cabinet smart lock at 6.000 KD that opens by app or PIN code, and a fingerprint and password version at 9.500 KD.
  • Off the floor. The single-door locker's listing gives its legs as 5.9 inches, roughly 15 cm, which keeps the base clear for cleaning.
  • Ventilation. The same listing describes ventilation holes in the door — the detail that matters if gym kit or work clothes are going to be shut in there.

There is also a wall-mounted steel mirror cabinet in this collection, 32.000 KD for the 660 mm width and 42.000 KD for the 855 mm — a bathroom cabinet rather than a wardrobe, with adjustable shelves behind a mirrored door.

Out of stock at the moment: the three-drawer, four-drawer and glass-door file cabinets, and the white and beige finishes of the five-shelf cabinet — ask us about availability.

Buying tips

  • Count the locks, not the doors you think you need. One door is one lock. If two people share the cupboard, two doors at 20.750 KD solves an argument that one door at 19.750 KD will not.
  • Hanging or stacking? A single tall compartment with a rail takes shirts and dishdashas at full length. Shelves take folded clothes, boxes and files but kill the hanging height. The single-door model is sold in both layouts at two different prices, so pick the layout first and the price follows.
  • Measure the wall before you order, not the cupboard. Doorways and lift widths catch people out more often than wall length does, especially with the 900 mm file cabinet.
  • Files and boxes belong in the wide cabinet. Box files do not sit well in a 40 cm-deep locker. The 900 mm-wide five-shelf cabinet at 45 KD is the one built for them.
  • No doors needed? Open steel shelving is cheaper per level than a cupboard — see storage racks and shelving.
  • Still weighing up door count against shelves? We wrote it up properly in steel cupboards and lockers in Kuwait: how many doors and shelves do you need?

FAQs

How much is a steel cupboard in Kuwait?

Lockers start at 19.750 KD for a single door with two shelves and a cloth hanger, and run 20.750 KD for two doors, 21.750 KD for three, 22.750 KD for four and 23.750 KD for five. The full-height office file cabinet with five shelves is 45 KD.

What size are the lockers?

The 2, 3, 4 and 5-door lockers are listed as 180 x 40 cm, which is the height and depth published on their pages. Ask us for the width before you order if it has to fit an exact gap. The five-shelf file cabinet is 1850 x 900 x 400 mm.

Can I lock it, and do I need to buy a padlock separately?

The single-door locker's listing describes inset hasps that take a combination or key padlock, which you supply. If you would rather use a code or a fingerprint, the cabinet smart locks in this collection are 6.000 KD and 9.500 KD.

Do you have a steel cupboard with shelves instead of a hanging rail?

Yes — the single-door model comes in a five-shelf layout at 23.750 KD, and the 45 KD file cabinet gives you five full-width shelves behind double doors. For shelving without doors, see storage racks.

Also useful: storage racks and steel shelving for open storage, and digital safes if what you are locking away is small and valuable.
