Before you choose

Start with the water source. Pumping from a tank to the house is a surface pump's job. Emptying a tank, pit or flooded area, or lifting water from below, needs a submersible pump.
Work out flow and head. Flow is how much water you need when several taps or sprinklers run at once; head is the vertical lift plus the friction in the pipes. Both decide the size, not the size of the house.
Bigger is not safer. An oversized pump switches on and off constantly and wears faster; an undersized one can't hold pressure.
Check the power you have. Most household pumps run on a normal single-phase supply. For three-phase panels or deep boreholes, ask us before you buy.
Add an automatic control if the pump feeds the house every day, so it runs only when a tap is open.
