Pliers for gripping, cutting, bending and holding, from 0.500 KD for a mini cutter up to 4.500 KD for a multipurpose plier. Most everyday pliers here are 0.850–1.500 KD, so the sensible buy is two or three shapes rather than one "do everything" pair: a combination plier, a long nose and a diagonal cutter cover almost every job in a house or a car.
Which pliers do you need?
| Type | Best for | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Combination pliers, 6"–8" | The all-rounder: grip, twist, pull and cut light wire. Start here | 0.850–1.500 KD |
| Long nose pliers, 6"–8" | Reaching into narrow gaps, bending and holding wire | 1.000–1.350 KD |
| Bent nose pliers, 6" | The same reach but around a corner — behind panels and boards | 0.750 KD |
| Diagonal cutting pliers, 6"–7" | Cutting wire, cable ties and small nails close to the surface | 1.000–1.500 KD |
| Mini diagonal cutter, 4.5" | Fine wire, hobby and electronics work | 0.500 KD |
| End cutting pliers | Cutting wire and nails flush against a surface | 1.250–1.350 KD |
| Carpenter pincer, 8" | Pulling nails out of wood | 0.950 KD |
| Tower pincer, 8"–9" | Twisting and cutting tie wire on site | 1.000–1.150 KD |
| Water pump / slip joint pliers, 10"–12" | Round things: pipes, fittings and big nuts. The jaw opens wide | 1.250–2.750 KD |
| Locking pliers, 10" | Clamping onto something and letting go — seized bolts, welding, holding two parts together | 1.750 KD |
| Locking pliers, adjustable, pipe and crimping, 10" | Pipe work and crimping where you need the jaw to stay shut | 1.000 KD |
| Circlip pliers | Internal and external circlips in gearboxes, pumps and machines | 4-in-1 set 0.950 KD; single 0.750–1.750 KD |
| Multipurpose pliers, 102 × 46 × 23 mm | Something small to keep in a bag or the car | 4.500 KD |
| 3-jaw gear puller, 3" | Pulling bearings, pulleys and gears off a shaft | 2.250 KD |
What you get for what you spend
- Three pliers, 2.850 KD. Combination 8" at 0.850 KD, long nose 8" at 1.000 KD and diagonal cutter 6" at 1.000 KD — grip, reach and cut. This is the set most houses actually need.
- Under 1.000 KD each — mini diagonal cutter 0.500 KD, bent nose 6" 0.750 KD, external circlip plier 0.750 KD, combination 8" 0.850 KD, carpenter pincer 0.950 KD, 4-in-1 circlip set 0.950 KD.
- 1.000–1.500 KD — the main working sizes: combination 6"/7", long nose, diagonal and end cutting, tower pincer, water pump 10".
- 1.750–2.750 KD — locking pliers 10" 1.750 KD, internal circlip plier 1.750 KD, gear puller 3" 2.250 KD, quick-release water pump 12" 2.750 KD.
Out of stock at the moment: the 3-piece mini plier set, the locking pliers with built-in wire cutter, the hand riveter and the leather hole punch plier, plus the 6" size of the plain long nose plier — ask us about availability.
Buying tips
- Buy by shape, not by brand or price. A combination plier grips and cuts a bit; a cutting plier only cuts, but cuts properly. Trying to cut hard wire with a combination plier is how jaws get notched.
- The inch figure is the whole tool length. A 6" plier fits into tight spaces and small hands; an 8" gives more leverage for the same squeeze. For most people 7"–8" is the comfortable size.
- Round things need an adjustable jaw. Pipes, tap fittings and large nuts slip out of a combination plier. Water pump or slip joint pliers grip them because the jaw stays parallel — 1.250 KD for 10", 2.750 KD for a 12" quick release.
- If you need to hold, not squeeze, use locking pliers. They clamp shut and stay shut, which frees both hands — the usual tool for a rounded-off bolt or for holding two parts while you weld or drill.
- Circlips need the right plier. Internal and external clips need opposite actions; the 4-in-1 set at 0.950 KD covers both with swappable tips, which is cheaper than buying the two singles.
- Working on wiring? Pliers are not strippers. Use a wire stripper and a crimping tool — see electrical hand tools, which also has the only plier set in stock right now, a 3-piece mini wire cutting set at 1.450 KD.
- Pulling nails: a carpenter pincer at 0.950 KD lifts nails out of wood without chewing the surface; end cutting pliers cut them off flush when they will not come out.

FAQs
How much are pliers in Kuwait?
From 0.500 KD for a 4.5" mini diagonal cutter and 0.850 KD for an 8" combination plier. Most working sizes are 1.000–1.500 KD, locking pliers are 1.750 KD, and a 12" quick-release water pump plier is 2.750 KD.
What is the difference between combination pliers and cutting pliers?
Combination pliers are made to grip and twist, with a small cutting notch for light wire. Diagonal and end cutting pliers do nothing but cut, and they cut much better and closer to the surface. If you only buy one, buy the combination plier; if you cut wire regularly, add a cutter.
Which pliers do I need for electrical work?
A long nose for bending and holding wire, and a diagonal cutter for cutting it. For stripping insulation and fitting lugs, use a wire stripper and a crimping tool from electrical hand tools rather than pliers and a knife.
Do you sell a plier set?
The 3-piece mini plier set is out of stock — ask us about availability. In stock right now: the 4-in-1 circlip plier set at 0.950 KD, and a 3-piece mini wire cutting plier set at 1.450 KD in electrical hand tools. For a general kit, buying the combination, long nose and cutting pliers separately comes to 2.850 KD.
Also useful: the full hand tools range, and electrical hand tools for wire strippers, cable cutters and crimping tools.
