A 15 kg dumbbell set in Kuwait is 15.450 KD at Bab Al-Saif, a 30 kg set is 33.450 KD and a 50 kg set is 44.950 KD. A single fixed pair starts at 3.500 KD for 2.5 kg, a bench starts at 22.450 KD, and a barbell rack is 19.950 KD.
The number on the box is the part people read wrong. A "15 kg set" is not 15 kg in each hand and it is not 15 kg of plates — it is the whole boxed set. So this guide lists what is physically in every set, plate by plate, next to what each one costs, and then the benches, the racks and the floor mat that go under them. Every figure comes from our own product records, read on the day of writing.
What is actually in a 15, 20, 30 or 50 kg set?
| Set | Plates listed | Plate weight | Bars | Case | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 15 kg set | 8 × 1.25 kg, 4 × 0.5 kg | 12 kg | 2 handles with collars | Yes | 15.450 KD |
| 20 kg set | 4 × 2.5 kg, 4 × 1.25 kg, 4 × 0.5 kg | 17 kg | 2 short threaded bars | Yes | 19.450 KD |
| 30 kg set | 8 × 2.5 kg, 4 × 1.25 kg, 4 × 0.5 kg | 27 kg | Handle with collars | Yes | 33.450 KD |
| 50 kg set | 4 × 5 kg, 4 × 2.5 kg, 6 × 1.25 kg, 6 × 0.5 kg | 40.5 kg | 3 bars | Yes, wheeled | 44.950 KD |
Read the third column against the first. The plates in the 15 kg set come to 12 kg; the rest of the stated 15 kg is the two handles and their collars. The 50 kg set lists 20 plates and three bars, and its case is the only one on wheels.
The other figure to notice is the smallest step each set can make, because that is what decides how finely you can load a bar:
- 0.5 kg per plate in all four sets, so 1 kg per bar if you add one to each end.
- The 20 kg set has twelve plates in three sizes — 2.5, 1.25 and 0.5 kg — at 19.450 KD, and the 50 kg set has twenty plates in four sizes.
- The 50 kg set's biggest plate is 5 kg, four of them. Above that you are loading several plates per end.
There is also a cheaper plate set: three sizes from 11.450 KD. The 15 kg option is four 2 kg and four 1.5 kg plates with three bars and four screw nuts; the 20 kg option at 13.000 KD adds four 1.25 kg plates; the 30 kg option at 16.450 KD lists four each of 2.5, 2, 1.5 and 1.25 kg. These use screw nuts rather than spring collars, which is the difference you are paying less for.
Fixed pairs, plate sets, or a dial?
Three ways to own a given weight, at three very different prices and footprints.
| Type | How the weight changes | What it occupies | Price from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed pair | It does not — one pair is one weight | Two dumbbells per weight you own | 3.500 KD |
| Plate set with screw nuts | Unscrew, change plates, screw back | One case | 11.450 KD |
| Plate set with collars | Release the collar, change plates | One case | 15.450 KD |
| Dial-adjustable pair | Turn a dial; unused plates stay in the cradle | Two cradles | 44.950 KD |
Fixed pairs come in twelve sizes from 2.5 kg to 30 kg. A 2.5 kg pair is 3.500 KD, a 5 kg pair 7.500 KD, a 10 kg pair 12.500 KD, a 15 kg pair 18.500 KD, a 25 kg pair 32.000 KD and a 30 kg pair 40.000 KD. Owning four of those sizes means eight dumbbells on your floor — which is why the stands further down this page exist.
The dial set at 44.950 KD gives fifteen settings per dumbbell: 2.5, 3.5, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.5, 10.5, 11.5, 13.5, 16, 18.5, 20.5, 23 and 24 kg. Its own record puts the change at three seconds, one-handed. Note that 44.950 KD is the same price as the 50 kg plate set, so the straight comparison is: fifteen settings up to 24 kg a hand with no loose plates, against 20 loose plates, three bars and 40.5 kg of iron in a wheeled case.
Two more adjustable options sit beside it. A dial set that converts to a barbell and a kettlebell is 52.450 KD at 18 kg and 58.450 KD at 24 kg; the 40 kg option at 79.950 KD converts to a barbell only, with no kettlebell, which is worth knowing before you order the heaviest one. And a single adjustable kettlebell at 35.000 KD carries six settings — 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 kg, in 3 kg steps — on one dial.
A 9.950 KD alternative worth knowing: a clamp-on kettlebell grip turns a dumbbell you already own into a kettlebell. It holds up to 25 kg, it is 28 cm tall with a 23 cm handle, and the two numbers that decide whether it fits are a 3 cm maximum bar diameter and 11.5 cm of bare handle. Rubber-coated and foam-wrapped handles are usually too thick for it.
Benches: which one and what it measures
| Bench | Positions | Size | Folds | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adjustable bench with a resistance band | Adjustable | Not stated | Yes | 22.450 KD |
| Adjustable bench with band arms | 7 backrest positions | 107 × 31 cm, 104 cm high, 46 cm seat | Yes | 34.950 KD |
| Adjustable bench with a bar frame | Adjustable | 32 × 122 × 200 cm | Yes | 35.000 KD |
| Multi-function bench frame | Multi-position | Not stated | Not stated | 249.000 KD |
Three things to settle before you pick one:
- Footprint, open and closed. The 34.950 KD bench is 107 cm long and 31 cm across the base, which is a bench you can fold and stand behind a door. The 35.000 KD bench carries a bar frame and is 200 cm long — and it also needs clear space at both sides to slide plates on and off, so measure more than the 200 cm.
- What is included, and what is not. The 35.000 KD bench's record says plainly that weights are not included, and that assembly is a separate service at 5.000 KD. The 34.950 KD bench includes the band arms with handles and the leg roller pads.
- Read which capacity figure you are looking at. The 35.000 KD bench records a lift capacity of 20 kg and no maximum user weight at all. Those are different numbers and we are not going to guess the missing one — ask us to read the plate on the frame.
If you want one frame instead of several, the multifunctional station at 89.950 KD is 140 × 102 × 200 cm assembled, in steel pipe with foam padding and ABS fittings, and it does not fold. It arrives flat in a 184 × 46 × 19 cm carton — that is the box to measure against your door, your stair and your lift, because it has to be assembled in the room it stays in.
What a rack is actually for
Two different objects get called a rack, and they do different jobs.
- A barbell rack holds a bar at a set height. The adjustable squat rack and barbell stand at 19.950 KD is a pair of uprights with J-hook cradles, adjustable from 95 cm to 116 cm in five 5 cm steps, on a telescoping crossbar so the width matches your bar. It is 50 × 74 × 118 cm assembled, weighs 8 kg, carries a 200 kg load rating and ships flat in a 79 × 19 × 11 cm carton. At 8 kg it lifts out of the way one-handed, which is the whole point of uprights rather than a cage.
- A dumbbell stand holds dumbbells off the floor. The six-pair stand at 16.500 KD is rated 200 kg; the three-tier stand at 29.950 KD holds three pairs and is rated 300 kg. Note which way round that is: the cheaper stand holds more pairs at a lower rating, so match the stand to the weight of the dumbbells you own rather than to the count.
A bar is held at a height; dumbbells are held off a floor. If you have bought fixed pairs in four sizes, the stand is not optional storage — eight dumbbells loose on a tiled floor is the thing that stops the room being used for anything else.
Pull-up bars: wall or doorway
- Wall-mounted bar and dip station, 18.500 KD. Heavy-duty steel in an L-shaped triangular frame, 95 × 77 cm, rated to 200 kg, fixed with four suspension anchors. It goes into the wall, so it suits concrete or solid block rather than a stud partition.
- Doorway chin-up bar, 12.500 KD. Rated to 120 kg, and it comes down again. The one to buy in a rented apartment where you are not drilling the wall.
Those two ratings — 200 kg against 120 kg — are the difference between the two products, along with whether you are allowed to drill.
Floor protection, from 4.000 KD
Everything in this category is iron on tile. Four facts worth knowing:
- A 10 mm mat is 4.000 KD. The 10 mm mat with a carry bag goes under a bench or a dumbbell stand as readily as anything else.
- The squat rack spreads its own load. Wide ribbed stabiliser feet run along both sides of each upright, which is what keeps 200 kg from sitting on four small points.
- Check the feet before you buy. The 34.950 KD bench lists non-slip end caps on its stabiliser feet; the adjustable kettlebell has a protective base ring to cushion it being set down.
- A wheeled case rolls; a bare plate does not. Only the 50 kg set's case has wheels. A 40.5 kg box of plates dragged across a tiled floor marks the tile, not the box.
Buying a set and a bench together
Several combinations are listed as single items, which is usually cheaper than the pieces:
- 15 kg set plus the kettlebell grip adapter, 23.450 KD. Against 15.450 + 9.950 = 25.400 KD separately.
- 30 kg set plus the bench with band arms, 54.950 KD. Against 33.450 + 34.950 = 68.400 KD separately.
- Multifunctional station plus the 30 kg set, 105.450 KD. Against 89.950 + 33.450 = 123.400 KD separately.
- 50 kg set, bench with bar frame and squat rack, 91.950 KD. Against 44.950 + 35.000 + 19.950 = 99.900 KD separately.
- 24 kg dial set, bench with band arms and adjustable kettlebell, 105.950 KD. Against 44.950 + 34.950 + 35.000 = 114.900 KD separately.
The full list is in home gym bundles. Do the arithmetic yourself before ordering, because the saving varies from 1.950 KD to 17.950 KD depending on the combination.
Buying from Bab Al-Saif
- Pick a plate up before you buy a set. Our showroom is in Shuwaikh Plaza, Khalifa Al-Jassim Street, Shuwaikh Industrial, and a 1.25 kg plate and a 5 kg plate are not the same object in the hand.
- Bring the room measurement. A 200 cm bench frame and a 140 × 102 × 200 cm station are decided by the floor, not by the price.
- In Kuwait since 1992, rated 4.7★ from more than 350 Google reviews.
- Pay cash on delivery, by card, or in instalments with Deema.
- Delivery across Kuwait. Ask about assembly when you order — on the bench with a bar frame it is a separate 5.000 KD service.

What weight can a pull-up bar hold?
200 kg on the wall-mounted steel bar and dip station at 18.500 KD, which measures 95 × 77 cm and fixes with four anchors, and 120 kg on the doorway chin-up bar at 12.500 KD, which needs no drilling.
What do I need for a home gym in a Kuwait apartment?
By footprint rather than by price: a dial-adjustable pair at 44.950 KD in two cradles, a folding 107 × 31 cm bench at 34.950 KD, an 8 kg squat rack at 19.950 KD that lifts out of the way, and a 10 mm mat at 4.000 KD.
