In a Kuwait flat, the machine you buy is decided by the floor, not by the brochure. A walking pad is a slim deck you can stand against a wall in seconds. A foldable treadmill is a full frame with an upright console that folds up but still needs a corner to live in. Both let you walk indoors when it is too hot to walk outside; they ask for very different amounts of your apartment.
Here is the honest comparison, using the machines we actually stock, so you can decide before you clear a space for one.
Availability first, because it changes the answer
Stock on these three moves quickly, so start here:
- Treadmill, 1200 × 450 mm deck — 149.95 KD: available now, and only a couple of units on the shelf.
- Treadmill, 1050 × 400 mm deck — 104.95 KD: between shipments. Ask us about availability.
- Walking pad, 0.65HP — 52.45 KD: between shipments. Ask us about availability and we will tell you when the next batch lands.
If you want something you can take home today, the 149.95 KD treadmill is the one that is on the floor. If the walking pad is what suits your flat, message us rather than waiting and watching the page.

Floor space: what the deck size really means
The belt is not the whole footprint. Whatever machine you choose, you also need clear space behind it, and space in front for the console or handle. A 1200 × 450 mm deck is 1.2 metres of belt before you add the frame around it — plan on a strip roughly two metres long being free while the machine is in use.
The walking pad's 880 × 380 mm belt is around 30 cm shorter and a little narrower, and the deck sits low with no upright console above it. That is the real difference between the two formats: a treadmill needs a place to stand, and a walking pad needs a place to lie flat or lean.
Practical test before you buy: mark the deck size on your floor with masking tape and live with it for a day. In a small Kuwait flat with tiled living rooms and not much spare wall, that ten-minute check saves a lot of regret.
Folding and storage
Both treadmills fold. The frame comes up and the machine parks against a wall or in a corner, but the folded object is still tall and still heavy enough that moving it is a two-person job in a tight hallway.
The walking pad is a different proposition: at 15.2 kg one person can lift it, stand it up beside a cupboard or slide it away. If your plan is "use it, then make the room look normal again", that weight is the number that matters most.
Either way, measure your storage spot as well as your using spot. Plenty of machines get bought for the space they occupy in use and then have nowhere to go afterwards.
Noise, and the neighbours below you
This is the question we get most often from customers in apartment buildings, and it deserves a straight answer. Noise from any belt machine comes from two places: the motor, and footfall going through the deck into the floor. Tiled floors, which most Kuwait flats have, pass sound downstairs more readily than carpet does.
Some things you can control:
- Put a mat under it. A rubber mat between the machine and the tiles is the single most effective step, and it also keeps the machine from creeping across a smooth floor.
- Pick your spot. Away from a shared wall, and not directly above a neighbour's bedroom, makes more difference than any spec.
- Pick your hours. Early morning and late night are when a machine is most noticeable to the flat below.
- Consider your pace. The walking pad tops out at 6 km/h, so it is a walking machine by design; a walking pace puts less thump into a floor than running does.
Speed and motor
The walking pad runs from 1 to 6 km/h with a 0.65 HP motor and a fixed 2.5% incline. Six km/h is a brisk walking pace, and the machine is built for that and nothing faster. It also has an LED display for time and pace and a device holder at the top of the upright handle, which is why people use it while working at a standing desk or watching something.
Both treadmills have adjustable speed settings, but the exact range is not published on the product pages, and we would rather not invent it. Tell us the fastest speed you actually need and we will confirm what the model in stock does before you order.
Weight capacity
The walking pad supports users up to 100 kg. Both treadmills are rated to 120 kg. If anyone in the household is near the 100 kg mark, the treadmill is the safer choice of the two formats, and this is one spec worth checking rather than assuming.
If neither one fits your flat
A bike takes a smaller and more predictable footprint than a belt machine, and the magnetic-resistance models have no friction pads touching the flywheel, which makes them quiet enough for an apartment. From our cardio machines range, these are in stock now:
- Foldable exercise bike with desk — 42.00 KD. Assembled footprint 78.5 × 51.5 × 87.5 cm, 8 resistance levels, 120 kg maximum user weight, folds flat. The smallest option here by a wide margin.
- Exercise bike with backrest — 57.00 KD. 135 × 62 × 95 cm, 150 kg maximum user weight, transport wheels at the front so you can tilt and roll it away. Available with or without fitting.
- Indoor spinning bike — 45.00 KD, and the commercial-style indoor cycling bike — 57.00 KD, both with adjustable resistance.

Frequently asked questions
Which takes up less room, a walking pad or a treadmill?
The walking pad. Its belt is 880 × 380 mm against 1050 × 400 mm and 1200 × 450 mm for the two treadmills, and it has no upright console, so the folded shape is flat rather than tall.
Can I move a walking pad on my own?
The unit weighs 15.2 kg, so one adult can normally lift and reposition it. The treadmills fold but are heavier, and moving one through a narrow hallway is easier with two people. Measure your doorways before delivery day.
How fast does the walking pad go?
From 1 to 6 km/h, with a fixed 2.5% incline. It is designed for walking speeds, not for running.
Is the walking pad in stock?
Not at the moment. It is 52.45 KD when it is on the shelf, and the 149.95 KD treadmill is what we have available today. Message us and we will tell you where the next walking pad shipment stands.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Deema instalments, card, or cash on delivery, in the showroom or online.
