How it is built

From the sleeping surface down:

• White knitted cover, anti-mite and antibacterial. A treated knit that dust mites and bacteria do not settle in easily - worth having in a climate where bedding rarely dries out completely.
• Quilted fibre and quilting foam. Quilted into the pillow top, so the surface is soft before any of the structure underneath reaches you.
• Natural horsetail hair. The layer that separates this mattress from an ordinary one, and the reason it costs what it does. Horsetail is naturally hollow and springy, so it behaves like thousands of tiny natural springs and recovers its loft instead of flattening. It is also the best natural material there is for moving moisture away from the sleeping surface - which matters more in Kuwait than almost anywhere.
• Mini pocket springs. A second, much smaller spring layer sitting close to the surface. Because the coils are small, there are far more of them per square metre than in the main unit, so the mattress follows the shape of your body in finer detail than foam can - and air moves between the coils instead of being trapped.
• Three-layer cashmere blend. A natural fibre blend that regulates temperature in both directions: it keeps the surface from feeling cold on a winter night and wicks moisture away in summer.
• Pocket spring core with four-sided support. Every coil sits in its own fabric pocket and compresses on its own, so the mattress supports your lower back and shoulders independently and movement does not travel across the bed. The perimeter is reinforced on all four sides, so the edge holds its shape when you sit on it and you can actually use the full width of the bed.
• Quilted side panels with comfort foam. Padded sides, so sitting on the edge to dress does not feel like sitting on a board.
• 3D fabric base. An open mesh underneath that lets air move out from below, so moisture is not sealed in against the bed frame.

Natural materials and springs solve the same problem from two directions. Horsetail hair and cashmere handle heat and moisture, which is where foam-heavy mattresses struggle in this climate. The two spring layers handle support and contour - the big coils carry your weight, the small ones shape to you. Nothing in the stack relies on a thick slab of foam, so nothing in it holds heat.

Both sizes are 200 cm long, so the only decision is the width: 180 cm or 200 cm. Measure the inside of your bed frame, not the outside. Buy fitted sheets with sides of 30 cm or deeper - a standard sheet will not reach under this one.

What does horsetail hair actually do in a mattress?

Two things. Each strand is hollow and elastic, so the layer acts like a mass of tiny natural springs that push back and recover their loft rather than compressing flat over the years. And because it is hollow, it moves moisture and heat away from the sleeping surface instead of holding them. It has been used in luxury mattresses for well over a century for exactly these reasons.

What is the difference between the mini pocket springs and the main springs?

Size and job. The main pocket spring unit underneath carries your body weight and gives the mattress its support. The mini pocket springs sit much closer to the surface and are far smaller, so there are many more of them - they shape to the detail of your body, around a shoulder or a hip, in a way a single large coil cannot.

What does four-sided edge support mean?

The springs around the whole perimeter are reinforced, so the edge does not sink away when you sit on it or sleep near the side. It means the full width of the mattress is usable, and the mattress keeps its square shape over time.

Is it firm or soft?

Supportive underneath, soft on the surface. The pocket spring core gives it firm support, and the horsetail, mini springs, cashmere and quilted pillow top above it make the surface plush. Most people read it as medium to medium-firm.

How deep is it, and will my sheets fit?
