How much does a vacuum cleaner cost in Kuwait? 15 L to 100 L priced

Mohammed Nazir |

A vacuum cleaner at Bab Al-Saif starts at 13.500 KD for a 15 L 1200 W household machine, and the range runs to 84.450 KD for a 100 L three-motor industrial unit. Sixteen machines are listed in Shuwaikh, and the decision that matters is not the wattage on the box: it is whether the machine is a wet and dry vacuum that can lift water, and how many litres its drum holds.

Every wet and dry vacuum, by drum size

Machine Drum Motors and power Price
15 L household vacuum 15 L 1200 W 13.500 KD
30 L wet and dry, single motor 30 L 1 motor, 1500 W 22.950 KD
60 L wet and dry, twin motor 60 L 2 motors, 3000 W 59.450 KD
100 L wet and dry, triple motor 100 L 3 motors, 4500 W 84.450 KD

That is the house line and it steps cleanly: four drum sizes, one motor more at each step above 30 L, and a price that rises with the drum. Two further wet and dry machines are listed beside it, a 30 L at 40.000 KD and a 60 L at 60.000 KD, model codes AVC30 and AVC60. Their records do not state what the extra money buys over the 22.950 KD and 59.450 KD machines of the same drum size, so ask on the counter rather than guessing from the page.

What "wet and dry" actually changes

An ordinary household vacuum moves air through a bag or a cyclone and a filter. Put water into it and the water reaches the filter. A wet and dry machine has a drum rather than a bag, and a float that cuts the airflow when the drum fills, so it can lift standing water as well as dust. Every machine in the table above from 30 L up is built that way; the 15 L at 13.500 KD is the household one.

In practical Kuwait terms, that is the difference between a machine for a flat and a machine that can clear a flooded kitchen floor, pull the water out of a washed car porch, or empty a sink trap you have just taken apart.

Which litre size for which job

  • 15 L, 13.500 KD. An apartment, a single car, a small office. The drum empties into a kitchen bin. This is the one to compare the others against.
  • 30 L, 22.950 KD. A villa floor, a workshop corner, builders' dust after a small job. One motor, 1500 W, and light enough to carry up a stair by its handle.
  • 60 L, 59.450 KD. Two motors and 3000 W. This is the size that stops being a household purchase: a car-wash bay, a building's common areas, a carpentry shop.
  • 100 L, 84.450 KD. Three motors and 4500 W. A drum this size is emptied with a trolley, not carried. Buy it because you are clearing 100 L of water or shavings at a time, not because the number is bigger.

The rule of thumb that matters more than any of the above: a drum you cannot carry when it is full is a drum you will not empty. Sixty litres of water weighs about 60 kg. If one person is going to use the machine alone, that is the real ceiling, not the price.

The suction figures, and why these two cannot be compared side by side

Two of the machines publish a suction figure and they are published in different units. The 60 L machine states 2000 mm, which is a water-lift height. The 100 L machine states 35 kPa, which is a pressure. The other machines state no suction figure at all.

So you cannot read these listings and rank the range by suction, and we are not going to convert one into the other to make a table look tidy. What you can compare directly is drum size, motor count and wattage, which every machine states. If suction is the number your job turns on, ask us to read the plate on the unit in the showroom.

Handheld: cordless or corded

Two small machines sit outside the drum range, for a car interior, a sofa or a stair:

Note the trade before you choose: the cordless one is 130 W and the corded one is 600 W, and the cordless is the lower-priced of the two at 16.500 KD against 18.000 KD. Convenience and power point in opposite directions here, so pick on whether a cable in a car doorway is the thing that would stop you using it.

Blowers: the other half of this collection, from 3.900 KD

A blower is the opposite machine. It does not collect anything; it moves dust off a surface with a jet of air, which in Kuwait is the faster tool for a porch, a car engine bay, a workshop bench or a stair landing after a dust-laden wind.

Blower Rated power Price
Mini electric blower 400 W 3.900 KD
Electric air blower 600 W 6.000 KD
Electric air blower, second listing 600 W 6.750 KD
Electric blower machine 650 W 6.750 KD
Blower and vacuum, 2 in 1 650 W 8.000 KD
Electric air blower, model GBL 650 650 W 17.250 KD
Cordless blower and vacuum combo, 2 batteries 21 V, 800 W 17.950 KD
Carpet dryer and air mover, 3 speeds 1100 W 32.000 KD

Two of these do both jobs. The 8.000 KD 650 W unit blows and vacuums from one body, and the 17.950 KD cordless combo does the same on a 21 V battery with two packs supplied. If you want one machine for a car porch and a car interior and nothing bigger, start with the 8.000 KD one rather than buying a drum vacuum you will store in a cupboard.

The 32.000 KD three-speed unit is a different animal: it is an air mover pointed across a floor, which is what you want after extracting water from a carpet or a majlis rug rather than after sweeping.

What Kuwait actually changes

  • Dust is the year-round load, not the exception. After a dust-laden wind, a villa's porch, window ledges and car are coated the same morning. A 3.900 KD blower clears a porch in minutes; a vacuum does the same job in an hour.
  • Floors here are hard, so the wet side gets used. Tile and marble get washed rather than brushed. A wet and dry drum from 22.950 KD turns that into one pass instead of a squeegee and a bucket.
  • Sixty litres of water is 60 kg. A store room on a first floor with no lift is an argument for 30 L, whatever the price difference says.
  • Carpets and a majlis. A rug that has been wet-extracted dries far faster with air moving across it, which is what the 32.000 KD air mover is for. In a closed room in July, still air is the slow part.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a vacuum cleaner in Kuwait?

From 13.500 KD for a 15 L 1200 W household machine. Wet and dry drum machines are 22.950 KD for 30 L, 59.450 KD for 60 L and 84.450 KD for 100 L, with two further machines listed at 40.000 KD for 30 L and 60.000 KD for 60 L. Handheld machines are 16.500 KD cordless and 18.000 KD corded. See the whole range in vacuum cleaners and blowers.

Which vacuum cleaner picks up water?

Any of the wet and dry drum machines: 30 L at 22.950 KD, 60 L at 59.450 KD, 100 L at 84.450 KD, plus the 30 L at 40.000 KD and the 60 L at 60.000 KD. They have a drum instead of a bag and a float that cuts the airflow when the drum is full. The 15 L household machine at 13.500 KD and the two handhelds are for dry work.

What is a wet and dry vacuum cleaner?

One machine that lifts both dust and standing water into the same drum. There is no paper bag to soak, and the drum is emptied and rinsed. Ours are 30 L, 60 L and 100 L, from 22.950 KD, and they are the machines sold for workshops, car-wash bays and building maintenance rather than for a living room.

Do you have a vacuum cleaner for a car?

Three answers at three prices. The cordless 130 W handheld at 16.500 KD for the interior with no cable. The corded 600 W handheld at 18.000 KD for more air. Or the 650 W 2 in 1 blower and vacuum at 8.000 KD, which blows the mats and the engine bay out and vacuums the carpets.

Is a blower the same machine as a vacuum?

No, and the collection holds both because the jobs sit next to each other. A vacuum collects into a drum; a blower moves dust somewhere else and collects nothing. Blowers here are 3.900 KD to 32.000 KD. Two machines do both, at 8.000 KD corded and 17.950 KD cordless, and those are the ones to look at if you only want to buy once.

What size vacuum do I need for a villa?

30 L at 22.950 KD covers a villa's hard floors, and it is still a machine one person can carry upstairs. Go to 60 L at 59.450 KD when several people use it, when there is a workshop or car bay involved, or when you are clearing water rather than dust. The 100 L at 84.450 KD is for sites, not houses.

How many watts should a vacuum cleaner have?

Wattage here tracks motor count rather than cleaning ability: 1200 W for one motor at 15 L, 1500 W for one motor at 30 L, 3000 W for two motors at 60 L and 4500 W for three at 100 L. Because only two of these machines publish a suction figure, and in two different units, we would choose by drum size and by what you are lifting, and treat the wattage as a description of the motor count.
