The reel is worth the jump if the hose lives outside. Do not read that table as a size ladder, because it is not one. The 24 inch hedge shear is 1.750 KD and the 12 inch one is 4.950 KD: you are paying for extending aluminium handles on the shorter tool, not for blade length. Pick on reach and weight, not on the inch figure.
Bypass or straight? A bypass shear passes two curved blades across each other like scissors and is the one for living wood. A straight blade crushes against an anvil, which is fine on dry stems.

The cordless pruning shear is the one worth a second look at 9.750 KD. Its record states a 25 to 30 mm cutting capacity, which is thicker than a hand shear will take without two hands and a lot of effort, and it is about half the price of the trimmers above it.
