The problem with extra seating is never the chairs, it is where they live for the other fifty weeks of the year. These fold completely flat and stand against a wall in a stack, so two dozen of them take a corner of a store room rather than a room of their own.

Seat and backrest are both padded — sponge under PU leather, not bare steel or hard plastic — which matters once people are sitting on them for two hours at a majlis, a lecture or a wedding. The frame is powder-coated steel tube on an X leg with a front cross brace, and the seat sits at 45 cm, the same height as a dining chair, so it works pulled up to a normal table. Open, it takes 46 x 49 cm of floor.
