What to check before buying

Discs are sold separately and they are not interchangeable: a cutting disc is thin and for cutting only, a grinding disc is thick and for grinding only, and a flap or polishing disc is for finishing. Buy the disc for the job you are doing and check it is marked 100 mm. Wear eye protection — a grinder throws sparks and fragments at 11,000 rpm.

4 inch, or bigger?

100 mm is the size that covers most work: angle iron, rebar, bolts, tile and small section. Discs for it are cheap and everywhere. If you regularly cut thick section in one pass, ask us what larger grinders we have in stock rather than forcing a 4 inch through it.
