Buying tips

  • Measure the cut-out before you order a pop-up socket. The 3-outlet unit ships in a 28 x 10 x 16 cm box and the 4-outlet hydraulic unit in a 38.5 x 16 x 15 cm box, so the 4-outlet one needs a longer slot in the worktop. Bring the dimensions of your desk or island to the counter.
  • Count the devices, not the outlets. Both units carry one USB-A and one USB-C port on top of their AC outlets, so a three-outlet unit still charges two phones without using a socket.
  • Both units record 15 A. The 4-outlet model also records a 2500 W maximum and a 115 to 250 V range; the 3-outlet model records 250 V and no wattage figure. Both record an IP44 rating and both record CE and RoHS marks.
  • The 3-outlet model is listed in four finishes. Its record names black, silver, grey and gold, although only black is set up as a variant, so ask us which finishes can be ordered.
  • The wall detector has no published specification. Its record carries no depth figure, no wire or pipe range and no battery type, so treat it as a 12.500 KD handheld unit and ask to try it in the showroom rather than relying on a number we have not published.

What is the difference between the flip-up and the hydraulic one?

The flip-up unit is a recessed lid you tip open by hand. The hydraulic unit rises out of the worktop on a damped lift and has an aluminium panel, thick copper contacts and a 1.5 m lead already fitted. The hydraulic one also records the higher rating, 2500 W against no wattage figure on the flip-up model.
