|---|---|---|
| Utility cutting knife | The cheapest way to have a sharp blade in the drawer — boxes, tape, packaging | 0.250 KD |

| Retractable knife, 100 mm | Keeping the blade covered between cuts — toolbox, glovebox, drawer | 0.450 KD |
| Snap-off knife with ABS case, 18 x 100 mm | General trade work — a harder case takes being dropped and sat on | 0.750 KD |
| Utility knife, SK5 alloy steel blade | Cutting that blunts a cheap blade quickly — carpet backing, thick card, rubber sheet | 0.750 KD |
| Snap-off knife with push button, 169 mm | A longer grip and more blade out — insulation, sheeting, large boxes | 0.750 KD |

| Folding utility knife, alloy steel blade | Daily site use — the sturdiest folder here | 0.850 KD |

What you get for what you spend
- Under 0.300 KD — one knife for the drawer: the utility cutting knife at 0.250 KD, the 9 mm snap-off at 0.250 KD, or the 16.5 cm office knife at 0.300 KD.
- 0.450–0.750 KD — a knife you keep on you: retractable at 0.450 KD, or a folder, a cased snap-off or the SK5 blade knife at 0.750 KD.
- 0.850–1.000 KD — daily trade use: the folding knife at 0.850 KD, or the 25 mm industrial snap-off at 1.000 KD.
- 0.100–0.500 KD — blades. Buy the refill pack at the same time as the knife; it is the cheapest part of the job and a blunt blade is what makes a cut go wrong.
Buying tips
- Snap-off or fixed blade? A snap-off knife gives you a fresh edge by breaking off the used segment — no spares needed until the whole blade is gone. A fixed trapezoid-blade knife is stiffer and better for heavy material, but you have to carry replacement blades.
- 9 mm, 18 mm or 25 mm? 9 mm for paper, film and light card. 18 mm is the general-purpose size and what most people should buy. 25 mm only if you are cutting deep into foam, insulation or thick board — a wide blade flexes less but costs more.
- Retractable for anything that goes in a pocket or a bag. A blade that will not retract is how knives cut through bag linings and fingers.
- Change the blade before you force the cut. Pushing harder on a blunt blade is what makes it slip. Blades here are 0.015–0.050 KD each in a 10-pack.
- Check the blade size before you buy refills. 18 x 100 mm snap-off segments and 61 x 19 mm trapezoid blades are not interchangeable. Bring the knife or the old blade to the showroom if you are unsure.
- Scraping is not cutting. A 300 mm scraper at 0.750 KD takes glue and paint off a surface without digging in; a utility knife on the same job gouges it.
- Cutting sheet metal, cable or pipe? Those are not knife jobs — see snips for sheet metal, and ask us about pipe, bolt and cable cutters.

FAQs
How much is a box cutter in Kuwait?
0.250 KD for a basic utility knife or a 9 mm snap-off knife. A retractable one is 0.450 KD, a cased 18 mm snap-off or a folding knife is 0.750 KD, and the widest industrial 25 mm knife is 1.000 KD. A 10-piece pack of spare blades is 0.250 KD.
Which blades fit my knife?
Snap-off knives here take 0.6 mm segmented blades (0.150 KD) or the 18 x 100 mm pack (0.250 KD, 10 pieces). Trapezoid-blade utility knives take the 61 x 19 mm pack (0.500 KD, 10 pieces). For craft and model work there are 73 mm blades at 0.100 KD and 126 mm at 0.250 KD. If you are not sure, bring the knife or the old blade to the showroom.
Do you have scissors for cutting metal or branches?
Not on this page. Tailoring shears here are for fabric, 1.900 KD for 11" and 2.000 KD for 12". For sheet metal, see snips, which start at 1.250 KD. For branches and garden pruning, ask us in the showroom or by phone — nothing on this page is made for it.
Can I buy only blades, without a knife?
Yes. Blade packs are sold on their own, from 0.100 KD for a single craft blade up to 0.500 KD for a 10-piece 61 x 19 mm pack.
Also useful: the full hand tools range and snips for sheet metal.
