The specification mentions a 60 metre and a 100 metre version, but this page sells the 100 metre only. There is no 60 metre option to choose, so if you have seen the 60 metre quoted somewhere, ask us before ordering.

What the Pythagoras mode is actually for

It gives you a height or a width you cannot reach. Stand on the floor, take two measurements to the top and bottom of what you want, and the meter works out the vertical distance between them. That is how you get a ceiling height in a stairwell, or the height of a sign, without a ladder. The area and volume modes are the same idea for quoting paint, tiles and air conditioning loads from the floor.

Accuracy, honestly

Plus or minus 1.5 mm is the figure in the record. It is a specification for a clean perpendicular shot at a solid matt surface. Glass, gloss, dark surfaces and long shots in bright sunlight all make a laser meter work harder, and no single reading is as reliable as a repeated one. For short accurate work a steel ruler or a measuring tape is still the sensible tool.

What is not recorded?

No laser class, no IP rating, no operating temperature range and no measuring-reference setting (front, back or tripod thread) are in the product record. If you need a laser class for a site, ask us to read the label on the unit.

Are the batteries included?

Not recorded. It takes two AAA cells. Ask us to confirm before you order, and we stock AAA and AA cells either way.

Will it read onto glass?

Not recorded, and in practice glass and gloss are the hardest surfaces for any laser meter. Bring your phone with a photo of the surface and we will tell you whether to expect trouble.
